We’ve been working to produce a set of t-shirts for Joseph. The tees are all white and, of course, made of the finest two-fold Egyptian cotton and finished to our usual high standards. There’s a crew neck short sleeve, a v-neck short sleeve, and a crew neck long sleeve.

JW Anderson’s latest collection
Thursday, 4th March 2010
Jonathan Anderson is one of the most interesting young designers working out of London. His signature approach is taking classic/old-fashioned fabrics, often with a distinct air of of mustiness about them, and giving them a new lease of life. He likes adding a touch of the sinister or the urban.
We watched him present his fourth collection at London Fashion Week recently. Sunspel were involved in making a number of his pieces and we love his approach. He came to us because we’re British experts in cut-and-sew jersey fabrics, and we certainly had to do some unusual things for him. For example, we made a zip-up bomber jacket for him – out of wool.
Tees for Pretty Green
Why Liam Gallagher chose Sunspel
Tuesday, 18th August 2009

We were approached by design team at Liam Gallagher’s clothing label (Pretty Green) to create and supply their t-shirts and polo shirts in a range of colours and styles based on original Sunspel patterns. It turns out that Liam Gallagher has been a fan for years and wears nothing else underneath. With deadlines looming for promotion and photography for Oasis’s global tour, we managed to do the sampling, printing and colour matching in the space of about four weeks.
Margaret Howell
UK / Japan
Friday, 20th February 2009

Sunspel has a long standing relationship with English designer Margaret Howell. We liaise on the seasonal design process, sampling and production. Over the years we have supplied superfine cotton tops in seasonal colours for the company’s men’s and women’s collections, along with ribbed cotton pieces and garment dyed wool pieces for women. These have been sold in the UK and Japan.
Richard James
Savile Row
Tuesday, 20th January 2009

Richard has long been a fan of Sunspel and thus we have been making his long staple Egyptian superfine cotton t-shirts each season for the last six or seven years. Richard uses his own unique colour palette and then, in conjunction with our design and sampling teams, creates original Richard James shapes and styles for sale in his Savile Row shop and via other Richard James stockists.

Building on the Harrods model, we were more recently approached by the luxury New York department store Bergdorf Goodman following an article on Sunspel in Monocle Magazine. Hence we have recently created a co-branded range of superfine cotton underwear for them in unique co-brand packaging.
Kris Van Assche
Wednesday, 20th August 2008
In 2008, we collaborated with Kris Van Assche to create a co-branded range of underwear using the Sunspel heritage Q14 fabric in a selection of shapes. Our respective design teams worked together on this project, with UK-based sampling and production delivery, and the project attracted a good deal of press attention.
Harrods co-brand
Knightsbridge / Heathrow
Friday, 20th June 2008

We have enjoyed a relationship with Harrods, Knightsbridge, for several decades, and the store sells Sunspel boxer shorts and Sunspel’s heritage Q14 range as well as seasonal specials and thermals.
Complementing this, a co-branded long staple Egyptian superfine cotton range has proved a successful Harrods staple for many years. Recently this relationship was extended to the Harrods at Heathrow Terminal 5.
Charlie Watts
The Rolling Stones European Tour
Wednesday, 20th June 2007

We were approached by William Gilchrist, the London-based stylist and menswear fashion consultant, just before the Stones’ most recent European tour. William was responsible for the band’s world tour wardrobe, and asked us to make some bespoke t-shirts for Charlie Watts for the European leg of the 2007 tour.
Thom Browne
Friday, 5th January 2007

We’ve been supplying bespoke UK design and production to leading American designer Thom Browne. What usually happens is he takes our heritage fabrications and uses them in a range of groundbreaking contemporary designs. They’re unlike anything found elsewhere, and it’s always interesting to see what he does with our fabrics.
