To coincide with inclusion in the V&A’s 2016-2017 exhibition Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear, we’ve designed a limited edition boxer short in line with boxer shorts found the extensive Sunspel archive. Made in Nottinghamshire, from premium quality 100% white cotton poplin, every limited edition pair features a buttoning fly and traditional channel waistband. To celebrate the significance of being part of such a prestigious retrospective, each pair come complete with a postcard featuring our 1949 Sunspel advertisement and are packaged in a matching 100% cotton poplin pouch.
Our iconic Boxer Short was originally launched in 1947 by Sunspel’s John Hill after his travels in America, the construction has been carefully refined over the past half-century to ensure a streamlined, contemporary fit. All seams are double-turned and feld locked to ensure no rough edges, and the rear central panel has been eliminated for optimum in-wear comfort.
