The man behind our nation’s most debonair spy was himself a sharp dresser. Fleming had very exacting tastes and a particular sense of style which he passed onto Mr Bond. He favoured high-quality brands with long and deserved reputations, many of which have since become synonymous with timeless British style. Sea Island cotton, such as Sunspel’s, was a particular favourite of Fleming’s. He often wore it during his time in Jamaica where he wrote the Bond books.
This season Sunspel have partnered with The Ian Fleming Estate to create an exclusive menswear range designed in homage to the eminent author, using the same rare cotton he was so fond of. Taking cues from his classic, understated style, the collection has a refined yet casual feel that would be as fitting on a sun-drenched terrace the Caribbean then as it would be today.
