It’s five months into the year and if you’re like us, your thoughts are starting to turn to a much needed getaway. Whether you’re dreaming of a trip to far flung destinations or somewhere a little closer to home, we’ve put together a handy guide to the top places we’ll be heading to this summer and not forgetting, all you’ll need to pack. Just don’t forget the suncream.

The City Break – Berlin
Call us biased but Berlin holds a special place in our hearts. It may be home to our first store in Germany but this small city has plenty of character and lots to do during a short break. Famous for it’s independent shops, cutting edge galleries and buzzing nightlife, it’s easy to be taken in. For daytime pursuits head to one of the city’s best galleries, the Bauhaus Archive, home to an impressive collection of sculptures, furniture, prints and models. Make sure to take advantage of the city rental bikes and head to famous sites like the Reichstag and  Holocaust Memorial  or stop off at Tempelhofer Park for a spot of kite flying. If you’re up for shopping, Berlin’s Mauerpark flea market on Sundays is your go-to for all sorts of souvenirs, records and other rare finds.

What to pack

Your wardrobe should be a mix of casual and formal, suitable for wherever the day may take you. Start with our chinos, and pair with our denim shirts layered over our classic T-Shirts and undo the buttons for a relaxed look in the day. In case the temperature dips in the evenings, opt for a jacket that won’t weigh you down during a day on the move.

The Country Retreat – Yorkshire Dales

Famed for it’s rolling hills, sweeping moorlands and valleys, the Yorkshire Dales has been the backdrop to some of literature’s greats from Wuthering HeightsJane Eyre to Dracula. It’s easy to see why, when you step on Yorkshire’s wild terrain which is every bit as dramatic as it is beautiful. For those looking for an active holiday, the Dales offer plenty of long walks, fell running and climbing. The Yorkshire Dales National Park  is a place of unrivalled natural beauty with beauty spots like The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and Malham Cove. For those looking for a more relaxed holiday, the Dales boast a number of traditional pubs and cottages within it’s charming villages.

Surrounded by unspoilt nature and romantic old harbour towns, it’s membership to the EU has meant Croatia’s hidden gems have been rediscovered. The beaches of Hvar offer crystal clear waters with a buzzing nightlife. For a slower pace of life head to the old town of Korcula, with its traditional houses, churches and cobbled streets not to mention it’s quiet beaches. Taking full advantage of Croatia means grabbing a ferry to explore it’s myriad of islands from Brac to Zlatni Rat, one of the finest beaches in Croatia.
